About
Built by Someone Who Knows Pressure
Mind Grit was built from emergency medicine, football, coaching, fatherhood, and faith. The goal is simple: give athletes tools they can actually use when the moment gets hard.
The Full Story
Why I Built Mind Grit
I am an ER physician, a former college athlete, a football coach, and a dad. I spend my days making decisions in high-stakes medical situations and many of my evenings coaching young athletes.
I grew up in Vero Beach, Florida, where I played football, soccer, and baseball at St. Edward's. I was a two-time All-State football player and an All-Area soccer player before going on to play four years of college football at The University of the South in Sewanee, TN, where I earned First-Team All-Conference honors at linebacker.
After football, I carried those same lessons in preparation, discipline, and performing under pressure into medicine. I became a board-certified emergency physician and later returned to the field as a football coach, helping young athletes navigate many of the same challenges I faced growing up.
I know what it feels like to prepare all week and still have to trust yourself when the pressure shows up. I also know that talent and hard work are only part of the equation. Athletes need practical tools to manage their thoughts, respond to mistakes, rebuild confidence, and stay present when the moment gets difficult.
I created Mind Grit after seeing too many talented athletes become overwhelmed by pressure, overthinking, fear of failure, and the weight of expectations. They did not need another hype speech. They needed a system they could use when the game became fast, uncomfortable, and uncertain.
Mind Grit helps athletes strengthen their faith, train their confidence, recover faster from mistakes, manage their self-talk, and focus on the next rep.
